It's Friday
So it's Friday July 26, 2013 and the weekend is here. Any plans? There is always something to do in Hampton Roads. This is Paul Norfleet. If you get a chance to hear him its well worth it.

Enjoy the cooler weather today.
I photographed this awhile ago in Portsmouth. So when I came across this photo it got me to thinking. How many times have you come across a situation where you faced the "Brick Wall". You know...the one where you thought "How do I get past this?". When I'm faced with that frustration and when I feel I've hit that artistic or photographic wall I do the following. I keep shooting. I photograph the subjects that I don't normally shoot. I stretch myself and force myself to keep moving forward. Sometimes getting through that "Brick Wall" takes a long time. Be patient, keep trying and never give up.
Why do you need another vacation to recover from the one you just had? Anyway, thanks to Edward Holloway for letting me photograph his car.
It's summer and some of you may be vacationing. What's your favorite place to visit or somewhere you would like to go?
One Flash, Two Flash Seminar with Joe McNally in Virginia Beach on July 31, 2013. Info here.
Having some fun with multiple exposure feature of my camera.
From Photoshop World 2012 in Washington D.C. Julieanne Kost, Adobe Evangelist. If you want to learn Lightroom she has some wonderful free tutorials.
Last weekend I attended Editor Dennis's photo walk. We started the adventure riding the light rail "The Tide". It rained for a bit but cleared up and we got some great shots of downtown Norfolk.
Today's temperature forecast is in the 90's with the heat index 100-105º Make sure that you stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water and stay cool if possible.
I loved the color in this one. Only small adjustments to the highlights in Lightroom.
Never be afraid to experiment.
I love photo walks. They are a great way to socialize and spend time with like minded people. It gives you a chance to learn and experiment. However, there are some days when its just you and your subject. On this day the early morning light and color were appropriate for the subject.
Sometimes trying a different angle can make things interesting.
Federal Reserve Bank in New York City.
One of my favorite subjects to shoot. I would always look forward to the air shows at Langley AFB and Oceana Naval Air Station. Unfortunately, most shows have been cancelled this year. I hope they return next year.
Sometimes finding the right background with shallow depth of field can make the subject more interesting.
Summer is here. Turn off the television. Get out of the house and take some photos. Enjoy your time with friends and family. There is so much to do and see in Hampton Roads. You don't have to go far and don't have to go through the HRBT. Take a walk, explore. We have great parks and there is far more to do then what you think.
Opportunities and chances for photo ops happen all the time. Sometimes all you have to do is turn around and look.
