Street Portraits- Sometimes you just have to ask!

Met this gentleman in Colonial Williamsburg during a photo walk. He asked why there was such a large group of photographers in the area. Our photo club Hampton Roads Digital Photography Club was there practicing skills. I asked if I could take his portrait and he agreed. His name is Stephen Christoff. He is a singer, songwriter and Colonial Entertainer. Check out his website: stephenchristoff.com

Fill the Boot for MDA

Yesterday, Newport News Firefighter's Local 794, Newport News Fire Department and families participated in the annual Fill the Boot for Muscular Dystrophy. Thanks to all who participated and special thanks to everyone who took the time to give. During the event we had a chance to meet one of our local families affected by muscular dystrophy. In fact, because of Fill the Boot and MDA one of the family members had a chance to go to a MDA sponsored camp here in Virginia. More to come later....

Sunday August 25, 2013- Why I Blog...

Today is Sunday August 25, 2013. As some or most of you know I completed my Project 365. That's taking a photo every day for a year. In fact, I have been able to complete two years. My next project is to post/publish a picture to my blog on a daily basis. So far, I missed a day but that was due to some technical issue with the blog. Many have asked how can you blog everyday. Well its simple. Most of the blog post you see everyday are pre-programmed. I take time once a week or every two weeks and simply schedule the posts. The pictures I use are from my archives mixed with some recent stuff. An example is today's post is being written on Sunday August 18th. The reason I tell you this....I have a lot of new photographers and more established folks who come here. They think they can't do this. I say yes you can. I highly encourage every photographer to start their own blog. It's not as difficult as you think it might be.
