Today is Sunday and its been a long week for me. I'm going to get some rest and recharge the batteries by enjoying some football.
It's Saturday, get out and enjoy the day.
I love seeing photographers grow. One of the best ways to do that is to make more photographs. However, at some point you need/should share those photos with others. There are so many choices. Make sure you read the "Terms of Service" so you can understand what your rights are. If you have a Facebook account that can be a good place to start. Family and friends are always a good place to start sharing. Here are a few choices to get started with. I use all of them in some fashion but I post more to Facebook and Flickr. Don't feel that you have to use all of these services. Also, there are other services that I have not mentioned due to time. During the next couple of weeks I will explain each service in a little more detail.
Our photo club's challenge this month is Hilton Pier in Newport News, VA. Why are challenges important? As photographers we should always have challenges or goals. Different subjects or different topics help to keep you out and making photographs. It's the personal projects that will help you grow the most. I have said this before and I will say it again. Don't be afraid of subjects that you don't normally photograph. It might make you uncomfortable but you will learn something in the process.

Today, Wednesday November 6, 2013 marks the start of the 34th Annual Virginia EMS Symposium. This is an educational conference for Emergency Medical Services providers that offers over 250 classes for continuing education. The conference attracts some of the best and brightest speakers from across the nation and world and in my opinion is the best EMS conference in the United States. I am humbled and extremely grateful to teach at the conference this year. I am also thankful to have one of my photographs grace the cover of the symposium brochure for the second year in a row.

I attended PhotoPlus Expo this year. It is the biggest photography trade show in the United States. This year was the 30th anniversary of the show. Lots of new products and plenty of "buzz" in the industry. These are exciting times for photographers. All the major camera manufacturers had their new cameras and plenty of networking. Today's picture is of Scott Kelby presenting on the show floor for Canon.
Taken during a recent trip to New York.
This week's photographer you should know is Chase Jarvis. Check out his blog/porfolio. Chase is also the co-founder of creativelive.com.
I sincerely hope that you are having fun wherever you are today. Today's photo is from the campus of Duke University.

Enjoy your day!
During my career with Newport News Fire Department I witnessed a lot of horrific sites. I post this photo to remind you of only one thing. Make sure that you have working smoke detectors in your home.
Another back in the day reference. (I still had hair, an afro!!) This is the 1973 Weequahic High School Yearbook Staff. I on the floor 2nd from the right. The photo is a copy.

Today is Wednesday October 23, 2013. Back in the day, the noontime radio station announcer at WBLS.FM 107.5 would always say "It's Wednesday, the weekend is here". However you decide to think about it, enjoy your day.
